What is gouache made of?
Gouache is a water-based paint made from three main ingredients: pigment, gum arabic (a natural binder), and sometimes chalk or white pigment to enhance opacity. Unlike watercolor, which is transparent, gouache is designed to be rich and opaque, making it ideal for bold, vibrant applications. It can be thinned with water for translucent effects or used straight from the tube for full coverage.
